You may have heard of the Iditarod, but do you know the miraculous story of how it came to be? The Iditarod is a world-renowned dog sled race held yearly in Alaska to
commemorate the heroic mission of 20 Alaskan Husky Dogs and one Musher ( the sled driver) to deliver a critical shipment of medicine to the remote Alaskan village
of Nome on the Bearing Sea. Here, desperately awaiting their arrival, the village people of Nome were very sick with dysentery, known as “Diptheria”. The town
was so remote that the only hope for the men women and children to receive the medicine they needed was to deliver it by dog sled.
In the winter of 1925, these brave dogs tracked over 1,049 miles through the rugged wilderness facing blizzards, whiteouts, and hurricane-force winds.
After 128 hours, they arrived amazingly at their destination without breaking a single vile of medicine!
These brave dogs saved the townspeople of Nome... and what did they eat along the way during this wild journey to keep them strong and alert?
You guessed it, Salmon!
This iconic story was a major inspiration in the creation of ALASKA PUPPY LOVE LLC. Pure wild Alaskan salmon is truly nature's purest energy bar.
Just as the Alaskan mushers in this story gave their sled dogs salmon for endurance and stamina, we are sure that your dog will love it just as much!
